Joshua Tree 2006 page 1

Troop 20 returned to Joshua Tree after trips in 2004 and 2005.  We got a late start from the Scout room around 6:30 PM on Friday and stopped at the In-n-Out Burger on Balboa before even leaving town.  Worked out well enough, as the drive up to Joshua Tree was lighter than it would have been.  Four scouts (Mike, John T., Clay and Nick A.) and three adults (Frances A., Dan G. and Mike F.) made the trip.

We arrived at the Black Rock Canyon Campground in the northwestern corner of Joshua Tree around 10PM.  Great big full moon made it easier to select a campsite.  We had two sites reserved and set up our tents and even started a fire.  Boys stayed up until after midnight.

We cooked up breakfasts and were on road to the main part of the park by about 9:30AM or 10AM.
